What makes the Sunshine Coast so attractive?

From our observations of the market place, many Australians are making the choice to leave the big city lifestyles and relocate to more relaxing environments, particularly those around coastal townships.

While this has fuelled incredible growth in our market place, it has also had significant impact on our local community.

Ongoing development can place pressure on the essential infrastructure that is required in every community, resulting in added expenses and sometimes we see a flow-on effect to local residents eg: higher council rates.

All this aside, for many people the opportunity to relocate is simply too good to refuse.

Why are people in such a rush to join our community?

Essential infrastructure: With the major airlines now servicing our local area, it makes it even easier to do business nationally.

The ease of getting to and from the Coast has played a significant role in making our location more attractive to many city dwellers.

Lifestyle: One of the main attractions of our area is the lifestyle benefits.

Being located beachside or, for a lucky few, having beach frontage, is a luxury that many buyers simply can’t afford in capital cities.

This allows many to enjoy both a great home environment and the finer things in life that the high cost of living and the hustle and bustle of major city living prohibits.

Whether it be walks along the beach or a refreshing dip in the river, life on the Coast is certainly different from life in the city.

Affordability: Despite the increase in property prices over the last few years, Maroochydore is relatively good value for money when you compare it with inner city suburbs of some of Australia’s largest cities, yet it offers the relaxed lifestyle of a sometimes sleepy country town.

Change of pace: The Coast offers a unique change of pace, whereby you can still have an active work life which can easily be counterbalanced by an equal amount of social and relaxation time.

There are lots of great opportunities to partake in recreational activities from boating to yoga. You choose the location and the activity, it’s all at your fingertips!

There are a few important points to remember for those buyers who are considering the move:

1. Secure a property to live in - whether it be purchasing or renting (don’t be afraid to rent for the first six months to allow you to get a feel for the market and the locations that most appeal to you).

2. Make sure your employment agreement is signed before relocating as you want certainty in relation to your income.

3. Come and visit a few times before making the move. Check out the local hot spots and suburbs and really assess what it is that you would like to achieve out of the move.

Have your say
