A bridge too far for 'drink-driver'

A collision on the Petrie Creek bridge on the David Low Way at Diddillibah last Thursday resulted in a 30-year-old woman being arrested for drink-driving.

The driver of a Toyota 4-Runner involved in the crash, she was allegedly more than four times over the legal limit.

She was breath-tested at the scene before she was taken to Maroochydore Police Station where she allegedly recorded a blood alcohol content of .215%.

The accident occurred at 6.10pm when the 4-Runner, heading south on the David Low Way, hit the side barrier of the bridge before colliding with the side of a vehicle heading north.
