Fugitive cow refuses to come home

October 8 | Coast police

A runaway cow led Caloundra police on a merry chase at Happy Valley on Saturday.

Officers were sent to investigate reports that a cow was on the loose and tried to catch it to ensure the safety of road users and the animal.

The bemused bovine went trotting off down Bowman Road with police in pursuit.

The two police cars eventually corralled the cow in the police carpark. However, it escaped, with one of the police trying to lasso the beast.

The policeman (now called Roy!) failed to catch the cow, which was last seen running into bushland near Caloundra Road.

At 8am the same day, police stopped the same car on the motorway. This time the son got a speeding fine!

Imported car unregistered

A 20-year-old man stopped on Maroochydore Road last Friday was driving an imported second-hand Nissan that has never been registered in Australia.
