'Residents threatened in home invasion'

Caloundra detectives have arrested a 22-year-old man over an alleged home invasion at Regent Street in Caloundra on October 17.

A man allegedly entered the victims’ residence armed with a handgun and threatened the occupants.

A struggle ensued between the offender and one of the occupants, and the occupant attempted to escape by climbing onto the roof of the residence.

The offender then allegedly destroyed property in the house and left the scene.

As a result of outstanding detective work, the alleged offender was located on October 19 and charged with numerous offences including robbery with violence.

He was refused bail and remanded in custody until his next court appearance.

Woman allegedly assaulted at Plaza

A woman was sitting on a bench at Sunshine Plaza when a man allegedly approached her, leaned down and squeezed her breast for a short time.

He then allegedly made suggestive comments to the woman about having sex with her.

The woman reacted by hitting him with her trusty handbag.

Police from Maroochydore were immediately made aware of the situation and a short time later a man was located and arrested.

He subsequently charged with sexual assault.

Pair charged over burglaries

Sunshine Coast detectives investigating a recent spate of burglary offences have arrested two men.

They executed a search warrant at a residence, where an amount of suspected stolen property was located, including computer monitors and equipment.

One man was charged with a total of 45 property-related offences while a second was charged with 16 property-related offences.
