Our driving shame file

A 53 year old Sunshine Coast man was detected speeding by the Sunshine Coast Traffic Branch yesterday.

The driver was issued with a Traffic Offence Notice for driving at 81 klm/hr in a 60 klm/hr zone. The vehicle was a fully signed driver training car displaying “L” plates.

The driving instructor told police he was on his way to collect a student for a driving lesson.

The driving instructor was unable to produce his drivers licence or driver training accreditation. He was fined $150.00 and lost three demerit points.

Name and shame: drink-drivers through our courts

• Timothy Robin Beacham, 33, of Maroochydore was convicted in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on 2/2/08. He was intercepted by Coolum police and tested with a 0.138% alcohol reading. He was convicted and fined $800.00 and disqualified for 8 months.

• Alicia Jeanne Hansen, 24, a student from Buderim, was convicted in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on 6/2/08. She had been intercepted by Maroochydore Police and tested with a, 089% alcohol reading. She was convicted fined $400.00 and disqualified for 3 months.

• Jacqueline Susan Russell, 50, of Mudjimba, was convicted in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on 6/2/08. She had been involved in a traffic crash at Pacific Paradise and was tested by Coolum Police with a 0.286% alcohol reading. She was fined $1,600.00 and disqualified for 14 months.

• Timothy Paul Hollins, 33, unemployed of Coolum Beach, was convicted in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on 5/2/08. He had been random breath tested by Coolum Police, with a alcohol reading of 0.150%. He was fined $1000 and disqualified for 12 months.

• Peta Jayne Humprhis, an 18 year old bakery hand from Kallangur, was convicted in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on 5/2/08. She had been stopped by Sunshine Coast Traffic Branch at Mountain Creek for a breath test and returned a reading of 0.064%. She was fined $300.00 and disqualified for 3 months.

• Sandra Ellen Youngman, 48, of Mountain Creek was convicted in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on 5/2/08. She had been stopped by Sunshine Coast Traffic Branch and breath tested. She returned a reading of 0.141%. She was fined $800.00 and disqualified for eight months.

• Susan McCormack, 47, an Aged Care Worker of Golden Beach was convicted in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on 4/2/08. She was reported by other motorists as driving in an erratic manner on the Sunshine Motorway. The vehicle was intercepted by Kawana Police. Open liquor containers were located next to the driver. She was tested with a reading of 0.164%. She was sentenced to probation for 12 months and disqualified for 12 months.

• Clasine Louise Workum, 65, a nurse, was convicted in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on 1/2/08. She was intercepted by Sunshine Coast Traffic Branch whilst performing stationary RBT at Mooloolaba. She was tested with a reading of 0.109%. She was fined $600.00 and disqualified for 4 months.

• Cassandra Dell Waddington, 26, of Maroochydore was convicted in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on 1/2/08. The offender was intercepted by Kawana Police at Buddina with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.127%. She was fined $900.00 and disqualified for 10 months.

• Tori James Faux, 26, unemployed from Eudlo, was intercepted by Sunshine Coast Tactical Crime Squad officers with a reading of 0.50%, he was unlicensed and was driving a vehicle fitted with false plates. On 31/1/08 he was convicted in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court and fined $750.00 and disqualified for 4 months.

• Lisa Marree Wilson, 19, a bar attendant from Coes Creek is under 25 years and not permitted to have any alcohol whilst driving. She was intercepted by Coolum Police on New Years Day with a reading of 0.025%. The offender appeared in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court where she was convicted and fined $150.00 and disqualified for 3 months.

• Amanda Lee Dean a 24 year old chef from Buderim was involved in a traffic crash at Woolworths Buderim. Police alleged she left the scene and drove home where they found her damaged car. Maroochydore Police breath tested the driver and she returned a 0.079% reading. She was convicted in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on 30/1/08 where she was fined $500.00 and disqualified for 4 months.

• Joanne Adele Lynch,43, sales assistant from Coolum Beach, was tested by Coolum Police with a reading of 0.112%. She appeared in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on 31/1/08 where she was convicted and fined $700.00 and disqualified for 6 months.

• Atarax Hope Dempsey, an 18 year old student from Maroochydore, was breath tested by Maroochydore Police at Mooloolaba. Her age and licence status is such that she was permitted zero alcohol while driving. She returned a reading of 0.46%. She was convicted in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on 31/01/08 fined $200.00 and disqualified for 3 months.

• David Stephen Hutchinson, a 34 year old printer from Coolum Beach was breath tested on Yandina Road with a reading of 0.086%. He was convicted in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on 31/1/08, fined $400.00 and disqualified for 3 months.

• Tracey Elizabeth O'Connor, a 47 year involved in Sports Medicine, from Minyama was breath tested in Brisbane Road Mooloolaba by Maroochydore Police. She had an alcohol reading of 0.065%. She appeared in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on 6/2/08 where she was convicted and fined $250.00 and disqualified for 1 month.

• Ian Samuel Manwaring, 21, a lab technician from Federal, was breath tested by Maroochydore Police in Brisbane Road Mooloolaba with a reading of 0.077%. He appeared in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on 6/2/08 where he was convicted fined $400.00 and disqualified for 3 months.

• Michael Creswick, 52, a sales assistant from Maroochydore was tested by Sunshine Coast Traffic Branch officers on Bradman Avenue. He had an alcohol reading of 0.063%. The offender appeared in the Maroochydore Magistrates court on 5/2/08 where he was convicted and fined $250.00 and disqualified for 1 month.

• Scott Peter Glavimans, 24, a builder from Mooloolaba was tested by Sunshine Coast Traffic Branch in Palm Drive. He had an alcohol reading of 0.077%. Additionally, he admitted he was using an expired Victorian driver's licence. He appeared in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on 5/2/08 where he was convicted and fined a total of $700.00 and disqualified for six months.

• Gavin Roy Lewis, 26 of Mountain Creek, was tested by Sunshine Coast Traffic Branch in Mountain Creek and found to have an alcohol reading of 0.075%. He appeared in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on 5/2/08 where he was convicted and fined $400.00 and disqualified for 3 months.

Mr Lewis, are not the police subject to the same road rules as the public?
In the last couple of days I have seen Police driving police vehicles whilst operating a mobile phone.
