Two drivers over the limit

January 23 | Coast police

Two people were caught driving with more than three times the legal blood-alcohol limit on Sunday.

A 24-year-old plant operator was stopped on Maroochydore Road shortly after midnight by officers from the Sunshine Coast Traffic Branch.

He was found to have a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.195% and will face the Maroochydore Magistrates Court next month.

Later, around 2.40am, Noosa police were called to the scene of a crash in Noosaville and caught a driver who was trying to flee the scene.

The 19-year-old bar attendant registered a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.180% and will face the Noosa Magistrates Court in February.
