| Coast police
A 30-year-old Kings Beach man was allegedly caught red-handed with the bright pink head of an Eagle Boys pizza mascot which went missing from a Caloundra store.
The mascot is famous for uttering the line “Did someone say pizza?” in national television commercials, and the head of the costume was valued at $2000.

Police allege that the man, who was believed to have been drinking, snatched the head of the eagle costume from inside the Caloundra store on the evening of April 18.
Seven days and a thorough police investigation later, and officers knocked on the door of the man’s Kings Beach unit, entered and allegedly sighted the offending head on the living room floor.
Senior Constable Ross Gordon, of the Caloundra station, said the man seemed rather sheepish when confronted by police.
“You could put him in the embarrassed category,” he said.
Snr Const Gordon said while police never condoned stealing in any circumstance, officers were able to see the funny side of the case.
“It was unusual and the fact that it involved a bright pink eagle head brought a touch of humour to it,” he said.
“But as always, there is a victim in these offences.”
The head was reunited with its body at the Moreton Parade store in Caloundra.
The alleged thief will appear in the Caloundra Magistrates Court on May 27.
