A housekeeper who was caught drink-driving twice in one week and a Tewantin man who rolled his car were among 13 people who faced Maroochydore Magistrates Court this week charged with driving while intoxicated.
May 12
Michael James Tilley, a 21-year-old auto electrician from Burleigh Heads appeared on a BAC complaint reading of .105 after being intercepted driving on Hancock Street, Mooloolaba, at 12.10am on April 20. He was fined $600 and disqualified for seven months.
May 13
James David Anderson, a 27-year-old tiler from Tewantin, appeared on a UIL complaint reading of .174 after being involved in a single-vehicle accident on Eumundi-Noosa Road at Doonan at 8.52pm on April 28. The vehicle ended up on its roof. He was fined $1500 and disqualified for nine months.
May 14
Darren John Tickler, a 39-year-old real estate principal of Mooloolaba, appeared on a BAC reading of .127 after being intercepted driving south-bound on Culbara Street, Mooloolaba, at 11.12pm on December 14, 2007. He was fined $700 and disqualified for five months (s87 application granted).
May 15
Robyn May Cowderoy, a 46-year-old housekeeper of Marcoola, appeared on a BAC complaint reading of .104 after being intercepted driving south on David Low Way at Marcoola at 7.30pm on April 7. The defendant was fined $600 and disqualified for four months. On the same date, the above person was also dealt with for a further BAC complaint reading of .05 after being stopped while driving on David Low Way at Marcoola at 8.20pm on April 9. This offence incurred a $300 fine and further four-month disqualification.
Kristy Bree Harris, a 25-year-old waitress from Mount Coolum, appeared on a BAC complaint reading of .067 after being intercepted driving at 11pm on November 26, 2004, on the David Low Way at Point Arkwright. She was fined $150 and disqualified for one month.
Russell Andrew Swanson, a 28-year-old boiler maker of Nambour, appeared on a UIL reading of .197 after being stopped while driving in Con Street, Yandina, at 9.45pm on April 17. He was fined $1200 and disqualified for 12 months.
May 16
Peder James Besai Tapau, a 25-year-old unemployed man from Mount Coolum, appeared on a BAC complaint reading of .058 and for suspended unlicensed driving as a result of being intercepted driving in Gwenda Avenue, Coolum, at 2.40am on April 26. He was fined $500 and disqualified for three months.
Kate Ellen Morrison, a 21-year-old student from Parrearra, appeared on a BAC complaint reading of .109 after being stopped driving west on Grand Parade at 3am on the April 4. He was fined $600 and disqualified for four months (S87 application granted).
Robert Michael Bennett, a 38-year-old technician from Pacific Paradise, appeared on a BAC complaint reading of .08. He was intercepted driving north on Sunshine Motorway, Maroochydore, at 8.08pm on February 14. He was fined $400 and disqualified for four months (s87 application granted).
Mandy Lea Rijnbeek, a 27-year-old unemployed person from Tinana, appeared on a BAC complaint reading of .064 after being intercepted driving on Charlton Esplanade at 10.55pm on the June 17, 2007. She was fined $200 and disqualified for one month.
Arpad Zsuppan, a 69-year-old retiree of Minyama, appeared on a BAC complaint reading of .106 after being involved in a single-vehicle traffic incident at 5.10pm on January 20 in Longwood Avenue, Minyama. The defendant’s vehicle became wedged into the western wall of a unit on the road. He was fined $250 and disqualified for one month.
May 19
Ryan Timothy Springall, a 24-year-old abalone diver from Buderim, appeared on a BAC complaint reading of .058. He was stopped while driving west direction on Mooloolaba Road, Mooloolaba, at 6.15pm on April 28. He was fined $300 and disqualified for one month.
Rogan Alan Etheredge, a 59-year-old financial adviser from South Africa who is in Australia on a tourist visa, appeared on a BAC complaint reading of .07. He was intercepted driving on Palm Drive, Mooloolaba, at 8.10pm on May 1. He was fined $400 and disqualified for one month.
