A dormant part of my brain was shocked back into action on getting the new album by Beatallica, Sgt. Hetfield's Motorbreath Pub Band.
It's that bit that bit that makes you giggle stupidly. And a lot. Like a toddler on too much Coca Cola with a lolly in each hand.
And that part of my brain seems to receive direct and intense stimulation from a great parody song.
Ever since I first hear Weird Al's "Like a surgeon" and "Eat it" - takes on the Madonna and Micheal Jackson 80's hits - I can't help myself. I laugh stupidly, every time.
After the new Beatallica and then finding a Hayseed Dixie CD for a dollar at a charity sale in the space of two weeks, I realised that my quest was clear: I must go forth and share the joy.

Weird Al. Possibly one of the best known parody artists. Here he is with Amish paradise.

Dread Zeppelin. In my humble opinion, possibly the greatest parody band ever, and a benchmark to meet for all to come. How can you not
enjoy an Elvis impersonator in a reggae band doing Led Zeppelin covers?
Here's Immigrant Song and Heartbreaker

Hayseed Dixie. Imagine hillbillies on banjos doing modern songs. Hilarious material, especially their cover of Judas Priest's "Breaking the Law". Here they are doing the Scissor Sisters, I don't feel like Dancing and Motorhead's Ace of spades

Not to forget the Beatallica boys, here's them doing there version of Metallica covering the Beatles on A garage Days Night.
Also, check out the interview that we did with the band's drummer, Ringo Lars recently.

And finally, here's a winner I found on YouTube. Mad TV taking the mickey on Shakira.
As long as there is someone willing to do something silly in song for the sake of a cheap laugh, I'll keep enduring the blank stares of colleagues and friends who don't quite get it. I hope you are converted and laugh uncontrollably too.
