Currimundi still king of the kids

CURRIMUNDI Primary School defended its Joel Parkinson Curra Grom Com title as a host of young surfers carved up the small waves at Currimundi Beach on Monday.
The competition, open to primary schools between Maroochydore and Caloundra, started with 15 schools but was whittled down to the top five for Mondays finals.
Currimundi Primary Schools Beth Palmer won the Lori Kelly medal for champion female, while fellow Currimundi student Jake Fissenden won the Joel Parkinson medal for champion male.
Stella Maris Rhys McPherson took home the Russell Batchelor medal for best novice boy, while the Russell Hoffman medal for best novice girl went to Talara Primary Colleges Tess Ricketts.
