John Morrall has made the final 15 on the Biggest Loser after being the last man picked for the series on the series debut last night.
John Morrall wants you to call him a loser.
The biggest loser that is.
The Harley Davidson-riding former retail advertising manager of the Sunshine Coast Daily has headed to Sydney for the final round of auditions in Network 10’s The Biggest Loser for 2008.
He is competing for one of the coveted positions in the Biggest Loser house.
If successful, his journey to weight loss will be screened larger-than-life from early next year.
If the previous three seasons are anything to go by, the process will be gruelling with challenges like pulling planes and a minimum daily workout of more than three hours.
But for the 44-year-old father it’s a road he’s hoping will lead to a better life for him and his family with a goal of losing more than 40kg.
It’s a journey he hopes other Coast locals will take along with him.
Widely known as a “top bloke”, John arrived at the Daily after many years as the franchisee of Noosa’s Harvey Norman store.
If he makes it onto the show, his story is sure to inspire many as he strives to make his family proud.
Viewers will take the journey with contestants closer than ever before as producer Paul Franklin said new aspects to the program included an online Biggest Losers Club and more food tips shared by nutritionists and trainers.
“Next year there’s going to be a special night each week where there’s an event to really educate the public and we’ve really opened it up on that front to involve as many people as possible on this journey with as much information as possible on food,” he said.
“There’s also a lot of surprises but I can’t really talk about them yet.”
With only around 10% of the show’s staff in the loop on what’s in store but we can tell you now that contestants will be selected based more on their stories which is sure to bring a lot of heart and soul to the show which has already endeared the nation.
