Tarasai: A goodbye on a sour note
"Thanks to you, even though I don't mean it" 'were the bitter parting words from Tarasai Vushe, eliminated from the Australian Idol competition last night.
On Sunday's all-Aussie night, Tarasai, sporting her new-look straight hair, had been royally stirred up by the judges, following a performance of "When It All Falls Apart" by the Veronicas. She was highly offended by accusations of being "fake."
The show was followed by a gigantic dummy spit, with Tarasai telling Mark holden to "flush his comments down the toilet."
The 20-year old told him numerous times that she was sick of the judges' comments.
Holden was given the "speak to the hand" gesture - popular on the Jerry Springer Show - while enduring a barrage of insults as she stormed out of the room, knocking the cameraman out of her way.
"I don't care if I'm in or I'm out tomorrow, I am not fake!" she spewed angrily.
Leading up to the bottom three announcement, Matt Corby said that he felt the stigma of being an "Idol" made him less of a relevant artist.
Dicko pointed out that the Idol process was more gruelling than what most older artists would ever have experienced and that there was no single way of "making it" in the music business.
When the time came for the bottom three, it was an all-boys night for the safe couch as Marty headed back, with Natali and Tarasai in the firing line.
After a very long ad-break and plenty stalling from host Andrew G, Tarasai Vushe was announced as the contestant with the least votes from the Australian public.
Graceful at first, she accepted the decision and went on to sing her final song on the Australian Idol stage, before a bitter goodbye to the judges, despite their congratulations and well-wishes.
