Mr G is for Gold

Mr G is for Gold

Mr G: Naughty Girl goes beyond gold.

A Logie nomination isn’t the only Gold currently associated with Greg Gregson, aka Mr G, whose debut single ‘Naughty Girl’ has now surpassed Gold sales status and sold more than 40,000 singles.

The hit single remains in the Top 25 after 8 weeks in the chart which saw the song peak in the Top 10 at #7.

Upon hearing the news, Mr G said, “I’m beyond thrilled. I always knew I’d be huge but not this huge. To commemorate it I’m wearing my Gold shirt to school for a week starting tomorrow. I’ll be the talk of the staffroom for sure.”

‘Naughty Girl’ is taken from ‘Mr G The Musical’ with score and libretto by Greg Gregson who has given full endorsement to the 6 track dance single.

The single features remixes by Paul Mac, John Paul Talbot and Stylaz Fuego as well as an Accapella version.

It’s the fairy tale story of a 36 year old high school Drama teacher from Summer Heights whose self penned musical touched the nation and resulted in a string of memorable songs.

Told through the voice of Drama teacher Mr G, the song describes the plight of a promiscuous young girl with an addiction for recreational drugs.

The airing of Summer Heights high on ABC TV averaged 1.4 million viewers per episode with the DVD selling over 310,000 copies, making it Australia’s highest selling TV series DVD of all time.
