Where's Bob's beard?

Where's Bob's beard?

The Suncoast Repertory Theatre is searching for Bob Abbot’s Beard.

Have you seen Bob Abbot’s Beard?

The Suncoast Repertory Theatre (SRT) is searching for it.

The same team that brought you Job’s Right have returned with their riotous new comedy which takes a satirical look at how the Coast has changed since amalgamation.

It’s a rollercoaster of a ride as coastal celebrities and institutions are parodied, lampooned and even join in the madness and mayhem themselves.

Now that Caloundra, Maroochy and Noosa have all amalgamated into a super council we are all as one. Or so we think.

So this show sets out to heal the divide and divide the heels.

Traveston Dam...Hoons and burnouts in Mooloolaba... Noosa Foreshore erosion... unchecked development from Golden Beach to Tewantin...Trying to find a car park anywhere...And when are they gonna finish that road into Caloundra... Everyone screaming that they want all of that, some of this, a bit of that, the best of this and absolutely none of that! ...The right getting righter and the left getting left behind

But don’t despair, all these problems can and will be solved by the magical properties of Bob Abbot’s Beard. Well...they can according to this latest offering to the Sunshine Coast theatre circuit.

Rarely does a theatre group get to let its hair down but this is one of those times.

It answer all those questions about the coast that you were afraid to ask. SRT and its co-producer - Job’s Right Productions - are no strangers to comedy. Practically the entire cast of Job’s Right will be back onstage together. When you put people like Brett Klease, Shane Cassidy and Brad Thomson on stage with Simon Denver, Chris Surplice, Joy Marshall and an all star show band then its light the touchpaper and stand back.

Expect impromptu appearances from Jamie Dunn, Livio Regano, Rainee Skinner, Sam Coward and Frank Wilkie, not to mention Bob Abbot himself!

This show is gonna go off like a frog in a sock.

It’s fast, cheeky, funny, irreverent, impish and it might be a tad political... but it sure ain’t correct!!

With a cast of 20, a full stage band including guest Doc Span and multi media galore this promises to be a night that will go down in folklore!

And in a special offer in keeping with the regional council’s new rate hike, SRT is putting 9.5% more comedy into the show.

Don’t miss the opportunity to see some high quality local entertainment and the chance to have a good belly laugh about ourselves.

This is one of the funniest shows I have seen for a long time. It is theatre on-the-edge, and the band is really good too.

Have your say
