Brisbane golfer Paul Donahoo broke a two-year title drought after winning the Beerwah Pro Am yesterday.

The fourth event in the FKP Peregian Springs series, Donahoo carded a six-under 65 to win by two strokes from fellow Queenslander Ben Bloomfield and New South Welshman Steven Jeffress.

The victory was Donahoo’s first since the Cairns Classic in 2007, and allowed him to jump to 19th overall in the standings.

Donahoo is using the series as preparation for his tilt at the Japanese Tour School in a fortnight’s time.

New Zealander Douglas Holloway, who carded a solid even par 71 yesterday, still holds the overall lead in the series at seven-under overall, just one stroke ahead of Queenslander Matthew Keegan.

Aaron Black, Adam Crawford and Tony McNaughton are all even with the card.

The next event in the series will be held at Horton Park Golf Club today and will culminate with the blue riband Peregian Springs Pro-Am on Saturday and Sunday.
