Pub Mooloolaba theft accused faces court

A Bli Bli man did not apply for bail when he faced court briefly today charged with unlawfully entering Pub Mooloolaba and robbery with violence last week.

Marcus Chick, 32, was also before Maroochydore Magistrates Court for breaching bail for failing to report to police on other matters this month.

He is accused of robbing two female workers at the Venning Street pub about 1.30am on August 21 and taking off with about $500.

Police will allege the man went to the cashier’s desk to ask for change for the pokies and then grabbed a bag of coins.

He allegedly took further cash from a cash drawer and left in a vehicle.

Mr Chick was apprehended after a police investigation allegedly after viewing security camera footage of the incident.

The case was adjourned until October.
