The English Premier League has just got started as the finals series begins on the Sunshine Coast.
In common with those controlling satellite television, who have made it difficult for supporters to know when and where their team is playing each week, the powers-that-be here have still to decide on venues and kick-off times for this weekend.
Patience is a virtue and there is apparently an abundance of virtuous players and supporters on the Coast who are best advised to check out www.sunshine coastfootball.com.au on Thursday for more information.
At the time of writing, we are awaiting confirmation of results, which will determine how many sides from the Tewantin-Noosa RSL football club will play this weekend.
It is to be hoped that a forfeit by Maroochydore will not have prevented the Noosa Youth team from progressing to the finals series.
In the club’s 35th anniversary year it is fitting that the Elders’ Over 35 first division side claimed the minor premiership with a 3-0 win over second-placed Buderim Orange, which gave the Noosa team a 10-point winning margin.
Goals for John Sereni, Michael Cookman and Chris Penny were just reward for a good team performance.
This Friday the two teams will meet again and the Noosa team will be eager to prove its status as champion and progress to the grand final.
The presentation on Saturday for the under-6 to under-10 teams went well and was enjoyed by all.
Congratulations to the hard-working committee members for their efforts to make it a memorable and fun day for the kids.
Good luck to all the Tewantin-Noosa RSL football club sides that are participating in the finals series this weekend.
