Urban legend

In days gone by, Keith Urban wrote about Love, Pain and the Whole Crazy Thing.
And yesterday, it paved the Golden Road to his second Grammy award.
Caboolture’s favourite son beat Nashville favourites Tim McGraw and Alan Jackson to take out the best male country vocal performance for his song, Stupid Boy.
His older brother Shane, who calls the Sunshine Coast home, said Stupid Boy was one of his favourite songs and he was thrilled to hear his brother had won.
“I heard from one of the girls at work, she called and said it was on the radio,” Shane said.
“I was over the moon. His win this year is just as exciting as the first time he won a Grammy. (2005)
“I’m extremely proud of all my brother’s achievements, it’s just fantastic.
“It is sort of surreal as well, because growing up you would see all these great artists winning Grammys and then for my own brother to win two, well it’s a great feeling.”
While it is fair to say that Keith and his wife, Nicole Kidman, were happy to wave goodbye to 2007, this year is already shaping up to be one to remember for all the right reasons for Australia’s first couple of entertainment.
The couple are expecting their first child together in July.
“It looks like 2008 is starting off as a brilliant year for my brother,” Shane said.
“And really, none of us could be happier. It’s hard because the word proud is used a lot, but it is just the most appropriate word here, because when you see your family doing so well in their chosen field, you are just so happy for them and I am extremely proud of my brother.”
The winners of 100 of the 110 Grammy categories were announced during a non-televised ceremony before the main event.
