Anna Grosskreutz - Division 1

Anna Grosskreutz took her time carefully considering whether to run for the super council.

She says her final decision was inspired by the people in her current electorate.

“I was approached by a significant number of people in my area who were all worried who would look after them,” she said.

“Even if people haven’t agreed with every decision I’ve made, the message is becoming clear that they trust me and they respect they’ll be looked after in an honest and ethical way.”

Ms Grosskreutz, 53, has lived in Beerwah for 25 years after moving from Brisbane because she wanted to raise her two daughters away from the city.

She is about to complete her fourth term as a Caloundra councillor and has experience as deputy mayor and acting mayor of Caloundra, is a member of the Institute of Company Directors, Social Policy Advisory Group, she chairs the Caloundra City pension rebate committee, audit committee and is former chair of the environment and regional arts development committee.

Her top priority issues for division 1 are pedestrian safety for students around Pacific Lutheran and Meridian State Colleges, new and improved roads and bridges and pathway connections and the $2 million Glasshouse Visitor Information Centre.

“Pedestrian safety for students is a major issue,” she said.

“The schools haven’t been planned with any thought to pedestrian safety.’’
