Dell Winkler has lived in Landsborough for 40 years.

She has watched her patch evolve over the decades and wants to ensure future growth is managed properly.

“I believe now we are facing the amalgamation of the big super council, unless you have strong experienced people elected, it’s not going to be easy,” she said.

“I’m honest, I’m reliable, committed and I have attended over 80% of all council meetings.

“I do not miss important meetings. The only time I’d miss one is if I was sick, and I’m not the sort of person to jump in front of the camera and say ‘here I am’.”

Ms Winkler has been a Caloundra City Councillor for two terms, representing the current division 3. Before then, she ran her own businesses for 20 years.

If elected to division 1, her priorities would be proper management of development, getting a good public transport system in place and looking after schools and sporting ovals.

“Caloundra Downs is a huge development. It would have to be managed properly to make sure all the services are there,” she said.

It was the need for a voice of experience as the new council forms that influenced her decision to run.

“I’m very capable and I want to see Caloundra City gets the best deal,” she said.
