Steve doesn't show up for medium

Many Crocodile Hunter fans who paid $90 for a show yesterday in the hope of 'hearing' from Steve Irwin have left disappointed.

But it is claimed that Irwin 'spoke' to his wife Terri and father Bob through US medium John Edward.

Brisbane's Sunday Mail reported today that hours before the psychic performed for 4500 people at Beerwah's Australia Zoo Crocoseum , Terri and her father in law had private "readings" to contact the late wildlife champion.

Mr Edward has been a long-time friend of Steve Irwin and Terri had hoped to speak with her late husband through the medium.

Mr Irwin told News Ltd his daughter-in-law was overjoyed by the outcome. He said both "had contact with Steve".

"There's no doubt that Steve was with us," Mr Irwin said. "It's not black and white, it's grey, but there was a definite, unmistakable Steve energy."

He told the paper the details of the reading were private and would not say what message the medium delivered.

But during the show, the Crocodile Hunter did not make his presence felt and Edward did not address any Irwin family member during his two-hour show.

Mrs Irwin addressed the crowd, acknowledging many had hoped to hear from the Crocodile Hunter.

"If any of you are wondering why Steve didn't come through, it's because look around you, he's everywhere," Mrs Irwin said.

Mr Edward rose to fame with his TV show Crossing Over and claims to use his abilities to connect people with dead loved ones.

I had another fantastic day at Australia Zoo yesterday and was also a member of the audience during the John Edward show in the Crocoseum.

Not once before, during or after the show did I feel that Steve Irwin had to 'speak' to the audience.

Having contact with loved ones in the after life is I believe a very personal experience.

I was happy to read that Terri and Bob had that experience and also to see several members of the audience feel energy from their loved ones that had crossed over.

I had a reading several years ago by a medium from the UK. I didn't tell anyone I was attending and I didn't speak to anyone there as I was not going to 'give away' anything.

The reading I had was the most incredible experience to ever have had and without any doubt the message I received was from my mother that had passed over in a car accident a year previous.

My mother sent messages to me that only herself and I would have ever known. Amazing priceless energy.

I don't know what's funnier - Australia Zoo hiring Edwards or people paying $90 to watch the man do his party tricks.

Well, there's no surprise - "psychic fails to deliver". I think the Trade Practices act should be contacted regarding people getting ripped off for false advertising - no show, no dough.

Considering every Edward show has the disclaimer 'for entertainment purposes only' and not a single psychic has ever proved they contact the dead, Australia Zoo should be ashamed for profiting off the hope of Irwin's fans and the memory of a guy who is becoming a joke with this ghost-busting nonsense.

I guess the people with their negative comments may struggle with the meaning of charity. The $90 was not just for the John Edward Show. It also included a day at the Zoo.

Furthermore, proceeds went to Wildlife Warriors to continue with world wide conservation missions.

This greatly assists in saving animals and the environment. Withou this humans would really struggle to survive!

Oh, and, " I think to myself, what a wonderful world, oh yeah....

Vanga from Caloundra, I know what you’re saying.

I think Australia Zoo has become more than just a place to see animals. What ever happened to families going to the zoo to see the animals??

Now we are faced with; men dancing and singing like the wiggles, designer clothing for kids, artists promoting their music with live performances, medium's/psychic's at the ZOO, the Dalai Lama, a travel agent, and to top it off being asked to donate to a multi million dollar profit making empire!!……but don’t get me started on that!

Let’s keep the Zoo as a Zoo. Does anyone else think that Aus Zoo could just slide into a Las Vegas show? Because I believe it’s lost the Australian feel!

Never been there. Never intend to go there. Too much hype for me.

I am sure that whatever Steve wanted John Edward to tell Terri was private and it is only right that it should remain so. I am thrilled that Terri and Bob got a private message from Steve through John. No matter what your beliefs are, it is not helpful to a grieving wife to be disrespectful. The work that the Irwin family do and have done for animals, the environment and Australia is something that no one should have the cheek to put a slur on. Wake up to yourselves!

I respect the Irwin family 100%. However, "Chrystina from Moggill", it seems you think some people are taking the Irwin family for granted. I am not. I am worried that people like yourself, think you have an attachment with the family and get too personal. The loss of Steve is devastating for us and of fcourse the Irwin family and friends. But my bone is more along the “cash for sympathy”.

The Hilton family donates BILLIONS of dollars to charities that helps millions of sick humans, do we feel about the loss of their father? or would we ever DONATE to their charity? NO.

Wildlife Worries, Australia Zoo and the Irwin family have more money then a few Sunshine Coast suburbs added together. Hundreds of millions of dollars.. My message is don’t get emotionally concerned.

I am surprised that Australia Zoo went in with a "medium" even if he was friends with Steve and of the Family. I was not a fan of Steve - but then again I never met the man. However Steve Irwin has done A LOT for the Sunshine Coast economy - not to mention tourism in Australia. It is true that Australia zoo has become quite 'commercial' but its called expansion. In todays society their target market are the kiddies. And if you don't keep the kids happy, why would the parents bother going? They would not. Its sad Steve died - but hazards come with the jobs. Its not like Terry and the kids would let the zoo crumble. Kudos to the Marketing manager at Australia Zoo.

People will pay and want to see John Edwards and the zoo had the ties and the venue, as usual Terri pumped the money back into conservation which the Irwins have never stopped doing. There are a lot of performers i'd like to see in the crocoseum and zoo environment. I hope the zoo keeps it up. It's a lot better than going to other venues and places. The zoo provides for about 200 charities. By the look of the sunshine coast and picky would be's i'd say they should and could be doing more and not the zoo having the conscience to do so.

Those that went there expecting to hear from Steve, then know nothing of John Edward as he would have indeed have a private reading with only the family and only reveal what was said should the family give him permission to do so.

I do not know if John Edward is the genuine deal or not, but I do know there are a few individuals on this earth who do indeed have paranormal abilities.

Podblack from Perth (Well, there's no surprise - "psychic fails to deliver". )..my suggestion is next time read whole article, John Edward did not fail to deliver at all, he just didn't exploit what he told the family in private, with those in attendance that day.

As far as the comments about the Zoo having too much going on and it should stay just a Zoo, well as a member of the board at the Fort Worth Zoo here in the USA...we too are continuously coming up with new ideas to draw people in to the Zoo, because sadly in these hurried times people just don't come to see the animals any more unless you bring in some performance to get them there to start with.

I take my hat off to the Irwin family for all they do not only in the world of conservation, environment, humanitarian donations, but also for because of the Irwin family, those surrounding towns also gain financial income from the tourists who go to the Zoo.

Cheers to Terri I say,.. I hope she finds peace in knowing, that her husband, Steve's work still continues world over through her efforts and those who are like minded.

hi,
i come from indonesia, a country full of mystical experiences, including medium. Medium is real, and i had once used it, but it was the most regretful moment in my life, because for nearly 5 years the experience had changed my life to the worst, as it was a bondage to me. The medium spirit just never let me go. For sure it wasn't the family member that i wanted to contact, but it was an evil spirit that wanted to hold on me and feed on me ( if you know what i meant). Be careful, never played with spirit/medium unless you are strong in spirit or prepared to "say no" to the spirit. i hope my experience will enlighten you kind people. Thanks, Rudi Hartono.

If I was a dead Steve Irwin with the chance of communicating with my wife and father on "the other side', I'd have only one thing to say via John Edwards - "stop exploiting and manipulating my daughter as a marketing tool ... "

Dead Steve would clarify this by saying (via Edwards), that, "I have Jesus here next to me and He is still of the firm belief that money is the root of all evil ... so stop jeopardising my daughter's future for the sake of short term profits, even if they are charitable!"

But how can you be a charity ... AND ... a soon to be multi-national company? Steve thought it was okay while alive, but I guarantee that dead, Steve will have seen the light and the error of his ways.

Go to Aussie Zoo and you'll find merchandise for sale that's been made in Third World countries ...

... by workers being paid the type of money that keeps them well below the poverty line. Children, as well ...

You can't tell me that Steve's upstairs condoning that type of exploitation. If he really can communicate through Channel Edwards, then surely he would be enlightened enough to say that capitalism and the tools we use to promote it are destroying the future of our children ... everywhere ...

But because Steve's NOT saying this, we can only assume Mr Edward's is NOT really speaking to anyone on 'the other side" ...

Steve was a legend. Full respect to to the Irwin family for their continued work helping wildlife.

But that Paul Edwards guy is a parasite preying on people at their most vlunerable. Theres nothing to say about him that the south park episode didn't already.

Steve lives on in the Steve Irwin that is currently chasing cowardly japanese whalers out of Antarctica. We get to hear that ship rip one of those kill ships in half and in the squeal of tortured metal you will hear Steve laughing like a champion.
:)
Rock on Steve!

Have your say
