Drivers will have to live without a stretch of Nambour-Connection Road indefinitely, as Main Roads continues to explore whether a section at Kulangoor could collapse.
District director Dennis Tennant said the situation would be reassessed tomorrow MON, after workers finished inspecting one of the old steel culverts.
The road was closed on Friday night after it was discovered that a section had begun to sink.
The road is particularly important to Neil Grice, who owns the Big Cow Outdoor Centre on the north side of the road closure.
“We’re out of business today — if you can’t get here, you don’t come,” he said.
“The bulk of our traffic is from Maroochydore and all our advertising promotes that you should take the Parklands exit off the Bruce Highway.”
He said he was disappointed he had not been notified of the closure by Main Roads, which Mr Tennant said must have been an oversight.
