Now in its third year, the Viridian Vertical event will now be held as a stand-alone event to help raise community awareness about the environment and the positive ways we can have an impact.
The stairs at Viridian Noosa, which link Hastings Street to Noosa Lookout, form part of the course for the Viridian Vertical, which will be held on Friday, August 1.
It is a challenging 3km course for participants who can make their way to the top of the stairs at their own pace, take time to enjoy the magnificent view, grab a drink at the Lookout (1.5km) then continue on the walk along Viewlands Drive right into Attunga Heights, down the steps behind Picture Point and finishing back at Viridian.
Event sponsor and Viridian Noosa developer Bob Borger said the Viridian Vertical was a unique event and encouraged the community to come on site and view the race and take in the environment being created.
By taking part in the 3km walk for fun, fitness and future you will help raise funds for the Cindy Mackenzie Breast Cancer Foundation. USM Events is donating $5 from every entry and also encouraging everyone to give generously.
In keeping with the environment awareness theme each participant will receive a free tree, generously purchased by Viridian.
Noosa’s local Landcare group will be on hand to assist with this.
Each year land carers plant many millions of native trees, shrubs and grasses for a range of benefits, including better soils, water and air quality.
