Slow Food Noosa and Slow Food Brisbane will join forces for a visit to an organic farm followed by a Slow Lunch on Sunday at Sandy Creek Organic Farm at Beerwah.
The organic vegetable farm is owned by Les Nicholls, who has a very popular stall at Northey Street Organic Markets in Brisbane every Sunday.
“This is an opportunity for people to see how an organic farm works and and how it is different from a traditional farm,” Noosa Slow Food president Daniel Mosedale said.
The tour will begin at Noosa followed by a gourmet lunch featuring vegetables from the farm, of course.
The menu will include baked vegetables with fish from a "Maori-style hangi", barbequed vegetables with traditional sausages, stir-fried vegetables with prawns, farm fresh salads, healthy breads then French carrot cake from Le Bon Delice.
David from Blue Angel restaurant will be orchestrating the cooking.
“This is the first time Noosa and Brisbane Slow Food have collaborated on an event, and we are looking forward to interacting with like minded people,” Daniel said.
