Pomona's iconic Majestic Theatre celebrates its first year of operation under new owners, Pomona Progress Art Tourism Inc, this month.
The renovations that saved the beautiful 1920’s theatre were completed in July 2007 and the theatre reopened in style with a week of exciting events and sell-out shows.
One such event was the highly successful 1945 Wartime Ball, featuring the sensational 18-piece swing band Urban Swing from Brisbane, plenty of stunning wartime costumes and lots of fun and frivolity.
Well one year on, the war is over and so the Majestic is celebrating by Puttin’ on the Ritz! The theatre rekindles the much-loved Wartime Ball with a 1940’s theme and welcomes back Urban Swing to entertain the crowds once again. Guests are invited to come dressed in their ritziest 1940’s attire for the chance to win a prize and the order of the night will be lots of swingin’ tunes and dancing.
Puttin’ on the Ritz is on Saturday, at 7pm.
Tickets are $30 and food and drinks are available for purchase throughout the evening.
Bookings are highly recommended as this event is sure to sell out like last year’s Wartime Ball!
