Caloundra Bulcock Street is set to become the next hot location on the Coast, with more than $7 million worth of property sold in the main street in the past few months.
Henzells real estate agency sold the properties, starting with 143-145 Bulcock Street which sold for $1.67 million in March, and followed by 44 Bulcock Street which sold for $1.86 million on Friday.
The agency also sold 9 Bulcock Street, below, for $4.12 million, which will settle next month.
Henzells commercial manager Len Greedy said all three properties had been purchased by investors outside the Sunshine Coast, which was testament to the current interest in Caloundra real estate.
He said the sale of 44 Bulcock Street, which currently houses the Athletes Foot, King Kong traders and Fazsination Emporium, had created a wave of interest from local, interstate and overseas bidders.
“We had 11 registered bidders and in excess of 100 enquiries from places including Vanuatu and Melbourne, and the buyer was a Brisbane doctor,” he said.
“It goes to show the significant change in the landscape of purchasers in Bulcock Street.”
The doctor, who wished to remain anonymous, said his family used to visit the area back in the late 1980s, and he was surprised at the growth of the region over the past few years.
“We were quite surprised with the amount of development, and we were impressed with the main street which now has more options for shopping, more coffee shops and other businesses.
“We had been looking around Brisbane and the Gold Coast but found it was over-valued, and we saw this as a good long term investment and value for money.”
He said he was confident Caloundra would continue to grow in the future and planned to redevelop the site in the long term.
“We will redevelop at some stage down the track, but the leases are in place for the next six years, so it will be beyond that,” he said.
Mr Greedy said all three sites were expected to eventually be redeveloped as part of the changing face of Caloundra, but he said the area would retain its village feel.

Its not wanted Mr Greedy. Buy a copy of the electoral commission report on the recent election and see how many people in Caloundra voted for Big Bob and his Noosa ways. "Development" (there has to be a better word to describe what Mr Greedy is proposing) has ruined Caloundra - check out Golden Beach, Canberra Terrace, the Esplanade, the shockers already put on Bulcock Street. All those places were very good reasons for coming to the Sunshine Coast to live, if I weren't already here I would seriously think twice about moving to a town that has done what the Caloundra Council allowed.
