Now in its third year, the Viridian Vertical has developed to a stage that it will now be held as a stand alone event on Friday, August 1 to help raise community awareness about the environment.
The stairs at Viridian Noosa, which link Hastings Street to Noosa Lookout, form part of the challenging 3km course for the Viridian Vertical.
Event sponsor and Viridian Noosa developer Bob Borger said the Viridian Vertical was a unique event and encouraged the community to come on site and view the race.
By taking part in the 3km walk for fun, fitness and the future you will be helping to raise funds for the Cindy Mackenzie Breast Cancer Foundation.
The funds raised will be used on the Coast to ease the hardship, help families and make a difference. USM Events is donating $5 from every entry to the foundation and also encouraging everyone to give generously.
In keeping with the environment awareness theme, each participant will receive a free tree purchased by Viridian. Participants will receive their tree upon finishing to take home and plant or can seek advise from Landcare, who will be on site to advise of the best options, including the next Bushland Care Group day they could attend to plant them.
Also lending their support will be Noosa Smart Travel, by providing alternate suggestions on travelling to the event.
For further information on the event visit www.usmevents.com.au or phone 5449 0711.
