Stretch limo squashed in crash

Stretch limo squashed in crash

Let’s face it, if you’re going to crash you car into a building, ensuring it houses a panel beaters will save you cash in the long run.

And Sunshine Coast Limousines driver Alan Jones handled the job with style yesterday when, in a bid to give new meaning to the term “wedding crasher” he inadvertently un-stretched a Ford LTD stretch limo he was driving.

It was a little problem with a U-turn … no mean feat in a stretch limo, we concede.

Fortunately there was no wedding party in the rear and the appropriately titled Nambour Collision Repairs, in the equally aptly named Price Street, was closed and empty at the time.

Business owner Danny Rostirolla arrived on the scene to find some of his building’s own panels had taken a bit of a beating.

Despite estimating the cost of the damage at $5000, he didn’t lose his sense of humour.

“Someone should have told him we’re not open on weekends,” he quipped.

Later in the day – and still in Nambour – a McDonald’s customer found his reversing skills a little out of whack, so to speak.

And the fast-food outlet is now sans one sign courtesy of the customer’s Mitsubishi Magna.

“It appears he hit a kerb as he reversed into the parking space ... so he, er, gave it some more power,” McDonalds Nambour owner Greg Biggs said.

“Thankfully they’re okay – and they’re regulars.”

If we're going to draw an analogy from this, it's probably lucky he didn't crash into a funeral parlour.

Yes, Darkknight, that would have been a dead giveaway about his driving ability. But at least he wasn't beaten up by the owners of the shop he hit.
