It will be a tense wait for Andrew Champion and Chris Thompson.
The results in division four were so close, it will come down to pre-poll votes to decide.
Mr Thompson said: “I think we won the primary vote, we’ve got preferences to come.
“I suspect it will come down to the pre-poll votes.
“Hopefully it will be around Wednesday.”
He’s used to waiting around for results – his baby was due yesterday as well.
“I thought we would’ve had a baby by now. No result and no baby – what’s going on?”
Things were looking up for Andrew Champion until the two booths at Mooloolaba were counted.
“I have good scrutineers and it looks like I lost, I’m about 500 down in the two booths in Mooloolaba because of the unidentifiable people that spread flyers around Buddina.
“It’s cost me about 500 votes – that libellous flyer that went around the beach. I was getting 35% of those booths and the impact was that my Buddina vote that was previously about 75% dropped to 53.7%.”

This will require the backing of all councillors and sustained heavy work to have the state government to ensure the needs are delivered.
As an old yachty I remind everyone that Mooloolaba is a most important harbour and the only safe haven in foul weather between Brisbane and in the lee of Fraser Island near Tin Can Bay.
It was interesting how last Friday evening, as soon as the Local Laws guy knocked off for the weekend, scores of Champion signs mysteriously appeared on public land in the Caloundra Shire.
