It’s close, very close, but it looks like former Maroochy Shire Councillor Ted Hungerford has the lead over former Maroochy media officer Lachlan Millar for the seat of division seven.
While Mr Hungerford had secured 46.96% of the primary vote over Mr Millar’s 29.38%, Mr Millar’s preference deal with Ken O’Flaherty helped narrow the margin.
By 9pm last night, Mr Hungerford was ready declare a win. “Lachlan would have to get 100% of the preference votes to beat me and that’s almost impossible.”
