Mum's the word for style

Mum's the word for style

Natalie Bedford believes women should have a strong sense of their own style. Photo: Nicholas Falconer/173525

Boutique co-proprietor Natalie Bedford admires her mum’s ladylike style and less-is-more attitude to fashion.

WHO

Natalie Bedford, Zambezee boutique co-proprietor with mother Lorelei for 11 years. I have a six-year-old son, Declan.

LIVES

Buderim. I have lived on the Sunshine Coast for 15 years.

OUTFIT

Trelise Cooper coat, Dianne Von Furstenberg dress underneath, Twin Set mesh tights, Bally boots, Victoria Spring earrings; other jewellery from Tiffany & Co. All the clothes are from Zambezee.

STYLE INSPIRATION

My mother has always had a great sense of style and that interested me from a young age. She is a lady and I admire her less-is-more attitude.

I am also inspired by women who have a strong sense of their own style and own their style. They wear the clothes, the clothes don’t wear them, as designer Mela Purdie loves to say.

FASHION OBSESSION

I have an obsession with every facet of fashion, but shoes hurt my bank account.

FAVE SHOPS

Need you ask ... Zambezee! I can lose a morning at Tiffany & Co in any city. Thankfully, I have switched to silver recently.

FAVE FASHION LABELS

I admire Stella Mcartney’s range. I only have one piece that was a gift but I fell in love with her range. It is unique and the attention to detail is exquisite.

I live in jeans from Versace, suits from Max Mara and Mela Purdie for travel and easy wear.

HAIR STYLIST

Tatum at Strut Hair.

FRAGRANCE

Gucci Envy.

BEAUTY ROUTINE

I am a working mum so I really have a quick simple routine. With skincare, the Chanel precision skincare range is fantastic and I can’t live without my La Mer moisturiser.

Mandy Cox at White Story has recently introduced me to microdermabrasion, which works a treat.
