The statistics from cricketer Ashley Noffke’s stint in the Indian Premier League make interesting reading.
Matches: One.
Runs: Nine off 10 balls.
Wickets: One off four overs.
Payment: $80,000.
The Sunshine Coaster’s spell with the Bangalore Royal Challengers is over, with the all-rounder returning home for more important business – preparing for the upcoming tour of the West Indies with the Australian squad.
While many Aussies have been starring in the Twenty20 competition, “Noffers” wasn’t given much of a chance.
Flown over to India as a replacement for paceman Nathan Bracken, he was only used in the first of the four matches Bangalore has played in the inaugural season.
He went for 40 runs off his four-over stint in the loss to the Kolkata Knight Riders and hasn’t bowled a ball in anger since.
Counting the balls he faced and balls he bowled, Noffke received $2352 per delivery.
