Opera On The Big Screen

Welcome to the opera revolution!

With the extraordinary success of the 2007-08 season of The Metropolitan Opera productions at cinemas across Australia including the Noosa 5, audiences have cried out for more!

People who previously thought Nessun Dorma was a type of car are now becoming true opera converts after seeing the New York Met’s operas captured in HD and screening on a monthly basis.

With tickets already selling out for the final opera in the current Met Opera season, La Fille Du Regiment, Noosa 5 Cinemas will hold a bonus screening following the scheduled weekend sessions, on Monday May 12, 2008 at 6pm.

And to whet local opera lovers’ appetites for the 2008-09 season of operas direct from New York starting in October, Noosa 5 Cinemas presents this mini-season of highlights from the 2006-2007 season.

It includes Puccini’s Il Trittico June 14 and 16; Mozart’s The Magic Flute July 5 and 7; Rossini’s The Barber of Seville August 16 and 18; Placido Domingo in The First Emperor September 6 and 8.

“We are very excited to continue bringing these amazing productions to local Opera enthusiasts,” Noosa 5 Cinemas marketing manager Lucinda Morley.

“The response has been so overwhelming that we will be screening the next Opera seasons in the comfort of our newly refurbished largest cinemas,” she said.

Tickets are on sale now at the Noosa 5 Cinemas ticket box. Allocated seating is now available. For enquires and telephone bookings, call 5447 5130.
