Flexibility, femininity and fun are the fashion drivers for Soul Diva Boutique owners Dianne Pattenden and Kelly Carrigan.

WHO

Dianne Pattenden: co-owner of Soul Diva Boutique, Buderim. Younger twin of Kelly, partner Dale, many gorgeous nieces and nephews.

Kelly Carrigan: co-owner Soul Diva. Married to Bruce, two children, Chantal, 15, Dean, 13.

OUTFIT

D and K: Dogstar tunic dress together with Metalicus top. Accessories from Jewels of the Kimberley, designed and made in Broome, Western Australia.

STYLE INSPIRATION

D and K: Outfits that are flexible, feminine and fun. For example, colours, fabrics and labels that all complement each other with ease.

FASHION OBSESSION

D: Anything that I can put together in less than 10 minutes that will be smart and suitable for my daily schedule. The must-have obsession for me right now is anything that doesn’t require ironing.

K: Lots of layers and fun jackets

FAVE SHOPS

D: Apart from Soul Diva, of course, I have always believed in supporting local business wherever I live. Buderim has a great variety of specialty boutiques that cater for most women.

K: Our own – Soul Diva – of course! Plus High Heels, Mooloolaba; and Allanah Hill, Queen Street, Brisbane.

FAVE FASHION LABELS

D: Award-winning Western Australia label, Morrison; Brisbane-based Dogstar, which offers an oriental edgy “east-meets-west” flavour; a colourful mix of Metalicus; and feminine silks from Seminyak. They all cross over beautifully together.

K: Mostly Australian labels – Morrison, Katherine, Dogstar, Metalicus, Allanah Hill.

HAIR STYLIST

D: New hair salon Kooshka.

K: Have changed lots as they all leave to have babies! Just started going to Devine Hair in Maroochydore.

FRAGRANCE

D: I continue to love and use the everlasting classics like Chanel, Ralph Lauren and Christian Dior. I like to apply the essential oils which are subtle and aromatic too.

K: Stella in Two (Peony) reminds me of my holiday last year to Japan.

BEAUTY ROUTINE

D: Mmm ... I must admit, very minimal. Quite simply, lots of healthy sleep, regular pamper sessions including massage, reflexology and facials from my nurturing beauty therapist Rosalind. I also prefer to use products that are not overloaded with chemicals.

K: A mixture of Mi essence organic skincare and Payot. I love to indulge my mind, body and soul regularly with cleansing facials, manicures, pedicures and massage at Linda’s Beauty, Buderim. A hot bath with oils is a must throughout winter.
