Daniel Craig, or James Bond to his fans, has stunned the makers off the archetypal 007 car, Aston Martin by turning down a freebie - saying it's too tricky to park in crowded London.

The British car-makers were dismayed to be told by the Quantum of Solace star: "I don't want an Aston Martin - it's not practical in London. Where would I park it?"

Aston Martins have traditionally been Bond's favourite car since Sean Connery drove a gadget-loaded DB5 in Goldfinger - complete with ejector seats, machine guns and radar.

But Craig, according to the Italian Metropolitan Post, prefers the sleek Italian curves of the Alfa Romeo 159 Ti that the bad guys drive in Quantum of Solace and has already bought one for his girlfriend Satsuki Mitchell.

The luxurious Italian sedan has a string of built in gadgets of its own - like a mini fridge, a back massager in the seats, and a trouser press in the boot.
