Bokarina is nestled along one of the Sunshine Coast’s most impressive open beaches.
Nestled along one of the Sunshine Coast’s most impressive open beaches, all residents of Bokarina live within one kilometre of the coastline.
For a small suburb, there are a large number of facilities such as primary and high schools, aged care centres and parks and picnic spots in very close proximity.
Directly across Nicklin Way is Kawana Waters College (Junior and Senior campuses), Quad Park sporting and recreational fields, swimming pool and the Kawana Waters Community Centre.
Residents also enjoy good public transport in the form of various bus routes heading north and south. Kawana Shoppingworld, located in nearby Buddina, services most retail needs and is complemented by smaller suburban stores along Nicklin Way.
Housing in the area is a mix of 1980’s-era brick and tile homes, as well as contemporary beach houses. Many properties located on the east side of Nicklin Way have been bought and renovated in recent years.
Based on sale prices during the past 12 months, the most expensive street is Oceanic Drive. The highest house sale for the 12 months to the end of June 2008 was almost $2million.
The four-bedroom home on a 700sq m block in Driftwood Court sold in December last year for $1,985,000.
Continued price growth looks certain with proposed large developments such as the beachside Stockland land parcel at the southern end of Bokarina (adjoining Beach Drive), plus the new Lake Kawana development and future Kawana Town Centre to the west in neighbouring Birtinya and Wurtulla. Attracted by the proximity to good services and other areas of the Sunshine Coast, Bokarina is home to a balanced population mix – from young families to retirees.
