Boreen Point

Located north of Noosa, on the western shores of Lake Cootharaba, is the quiet village of Boreen Point.

Popular with day-trippers, fishing enthusiasts and yachties, the town comes to life every weekend. Home to the Lake Cootharaba Sailing Club, Boreen Point hosts a number of regattas including world, national and state championships every year.

About 25km north of Noosa, Boreen Point is a popular destination, with caravan and camping grounds located on the shores of Lake Cootharaba.

It’s a great spot to take the family during school holidays, with the calm waters perfect for swimming, fishing and boating.

Boreen Point is also home to the historic Apollonian Hotel, originally built in Gympie in late 1800s, and moved to Boreen Point in 1987 after being closed for over 30 years.

According to recent sales figures from the REIQ, the most expensive streets are Woongar Street and Mango Lane.

The highest house sale for the 12 months to the end of June 2008 was $675,000. The four-bedroom house on 698sqm in Boreen Parade sold in March.
