A Sunshine Coast lifesaver has launched legal action against his club, claiming almost $300,000 in damages for injuries he suffered while on patrol.
Sunrise Beach builder Colin Anderson, 41, has reportedly lodged a claim in the Supreme Court against the Sunshine Beach Surf Lifesaving Club, claiming he was injured while in an inflatable rescue boat in 2005.
He claims he was told to help use the boat to retrieve buoys and in the process he suffered a dislocation and fracture to his right shoulder which required surgery to insert a pin.
His claim says he needed surgery to remove the pin, required physiotherapy and now has permanent partial impairment and continuing pain.
