You be the judge.
That’s the request of the man behind the inquiry into Noosa Parks Association’s bid to run information centres at Noosa National Park and a successful bid to run a similar operation at Double Island Point.
A web site – www.noosanationalpark.info – was launched last week by the unsuccessful tenderer, Sid Pate of holiday media network, where all in the information he’s received under freedom of information (FOI) applications will be uploaded for the community to see.
“The site is designed to provide a forum through which people are able to express their informed opinions and discuss with others their views,” Mr Pate said.
Mr Pate said he had lodged 11 freedom of information applications relating to tenders.
These included the Double Island Point lighthouse, Noosa National Park Visitors’ Information Centre, Noosa North shore, the decommissioned Kinaba visitor’s information centre and others.
Mr Pate said a submission was being prepared for the ombudsman in relation to the Noosa National Park Visitor’s Information Centre EOI process.
NPA president Ian Seels urged the public to look at its website – www.noosaparks.org.au – where an explanation of the events surrounding the Double Island Point tender is provided.
“I’m very happy for (Mr Pate’s website) to go public and for people to view it,” he said.
“We just ask people take the time to view our website too.
“We’ve always maintained that our EOI was superior.
“We’ve committed no wrongs during the process.”
