One of the Sunshine Coast’s most recognisable breakfast-radio voices has signed off after five years, but he is still hoping for a tickertape parade before he goes in three weeks.
“David Hart’s probably doing something special for me right now, mayor Bob’s probably talking to the caterers. I know they want to keep it a surprise but I can’t be fooled, the gig’s up,” joked Ronnie Stanton.
Stanton was the first voice on the air when Hot91 launched in October 2003. He became well known in his three-year breakfast partnership with Chrissie Swan, who was runner-up in Big Brother in 2003.
For the past two years he has been part of the Ronnie, Todd and Sami calamity every week day, but the breakfast host and program director is heading off on new adventures in Vancouver, Canada, to station 95crave.
“I have always wanted to go to Canada; it’s just an amazing opportunity to see another part of the world and I think you can only grow from going international,” he said.
“I think the Sunshine Coast is the best part of Australia and I had some great fun. I think launching a brand-new radio station was very cool.
“But it’s also a terrific place to live with amazing people, great weather, there’s a lot that I’ll miss about it.
“The only regret is that there’s not a single piece of clothing going to get me through a winter in Vancouver. It’s going to be colder than Hillary Clinton’s kiss.”
The new breakfast show, from 5.30am today, is called the Sami, Todd and Dave show.

On page 8 it states under clause 3:1 my Employment details are as follows...
Todd, Get up at sparrows.
Provide nothing but stupidity.
Go home.
In fact I've previously been given a written warning from management for sounding slightly intelligent which is clearly a breach of contract.
Sorry to let u down dude... it's my job.
Cheers, Todd.
