WIN TV cutbacks hit Coast newsroom

WIN television has announced cutbacks at its Maroochydore newsroom.

Earlier today, state news director Steve Marshall told the ABC that staffing levels would be cut by one journalist and a camera operator at each of its newsrooms in the Sunshine Coast, Townsville, Cairns, Rockhampton and Toowoomba.

Mr Marshall said the cutbacks would allow WIN to provide additional news services in Mackay, Bundaberg and Hervey Bay and local content would not be affected.
