Battery Hill is located just north of Dicky Beach and within one minute of the coastline.
One of Caloundra’s older suburbs, quiet Battery Hill has experienced excellent price growth over the past few years as investors, families and retirees snap up older-style homes and units.
Located just north of Dicky Beach and within one minute of the coastline, Battery Hill doesn’t have any direct beachfront property but still offers a traditional seaside village lifestyle within minutes from modern conveniences.
The area has been very popular with both investors and renovators.
Housing in the suburb is mostly detached, with post-war and chamferboard properties as well as more modern brick and tile houses available. Units and townhouses have also sprung up in the area.
As with many Caloundra suburbs, residents of Battery Hill have to travel to access facilities such as schools and shops.
However, this trip is very short and major supermarkets, primary and secondary schools, leisure facilities and parklands are all within a five minute drive.
Buses run through Battery Hill, to take passengers south to Caloundra or further north to Kawana, Maroochydore and beyond.
Based on house sale records for the past 12 months, the most expensive street is Anderson Street.
The highest house sale for the 12 months to the end of June 2008 was $780,000 paid for a four-bedroom house on 603sqm land in Anderson St, that sold in September 2007.
The ratio of home ownership to rental (for all occupied private dwellings) was 57.9% fully owned/being purchased and 35.4% rented.
Just over 70% of dwellings are houses and 29.8% are units and townhouses.
