Climber rescued after fall

An Energex Community Rescue Helicopter crew performed a daring night time rescue after a climber fell and broke her leg at a Sunshine Coast national park.

The woman, aged about 20, apparently fell and broke her leg while climbing at Boiling Point Lookout in Noosa National Park about 8.30pm on Monday night.

It is believed the woman fell when a large section of rock she was holding on to came away from the cliff face.

She suffered a broken leg after the rock landed on her after she fell about five metres.

Fire crews were called in to assist paramedics with the rescue and the Eenergex crew winched the woman into the helicopter about 10.30pm.

The woman was flown to Nambour General Hospital in a stable condition.

What was she doing climbing up there at that hour of the night. Isn't it time people were sent the bill for sheer stupidity.
