Hold up accused face court

The teenage girls accused of holding up a Beerwah bakery last week faced a Maroochy Magistrates Court today.

Tauzin Leigh Reavill, 17, was charged with attempted robbery with actual violence while armed in company after the alleged incident about 4pm on Friday.

Police, who apprehended Miss Reavill and her 16-year-old co-accused less than half an hour after a search of the hinterland town started, had received reports that two females entered the store and allegedly used a knife to threaten a female staff member.

Police reported on Friday that a bakery worker allegedly received minor cuts to her forearm from a sharp object.

The case was adjourned until January 27.

The 16-year-old girl was expected to appear in Maroochydore Children’s Court.

Reporters were not permitted to attend.
