Sarah McConville is the Coast's latest beauty after taking out top prize in the Miss Bikini World local final held at Mooloolaba nightspot 240V last weekend.
The 19-year-old said her workmates would not be surprised to see her in a bikini competition.
“They know I’m adventurous so they would kind of expect me to be prancing around in a bikini,” Sarah said.
She said she was shocked when her named was called out as the winner of the local competition.
“I did not expect it at all it was the biggest shock to me and my friends,” she said.
“Basically the girls were stunning. They were all absolutely gorgeous.
“At the start, I nominated one of the girls who I thought was stunning and then she came second. I thought if she’s come second I don’t know who’s going to come first.”
Sarah now heads to Darwin in May to compete in the national final.
If Sarah proceeds past the national finals, she will compete in the world finals against contestants from more than 40 countries.
When she is not strutting her stuff on the runway, Sarah is employed at Queensland Timber Flooring and is working towards a degree in criminology and criminal justice through Open University Australia.
